As Photographed By Professionals / The Big Valentine by Robert Hirschberg

Previous Home
Pal Michael Wilk and Sun did a few Valentine's Day postcards that camped on Hollywood's golden age. This one was the most successful. Photographer Robert Hirschberg rose to the occasion by using a vintage camera. He also provided the 1939 Cadilac that they shot the photographs in. They even drove it to the site of the shoot which was a 1920's garage.
The vibe of the pictures ranged from very film noir a'la "Double Indemnity" to comical like the shot on the right affectionately called "Abbott & Costello Meet The Big Valentine". The day was an extreme hoot.
