Sun
as Babete posed for photographer Vivienne Maricevic and wound up in a
book about cross dressing that was published in Switzerland. It was brought
to his attention by pal Marsha Mellow
Surprise (Robin Crutchfield) who came across the book at Strand Books
where he worked. Sun is listed as "Paulina, Drag Queen". Huh?
"Oh well," says Sun, "You never know what they're gonna
call you. She didn't call me ugly cow and hey, I'm in another book!"
Sun's pay for the session? A roll of film shot by Vivienne that included
these beautiful shots. The hat design was copied to great effect by the
designers of Whoopi Goldberg's head dresses on "Star Trek - The Next
Generation". How does he know that? Well he can't be sure but many
of the fabrics used on the show, particularly for Whoopi's head gear,
were purchased at the fabric store where he worked for many years...just
around the corner from the Pyramid. |
