| This
costume was made for a masked ball. The pannier was about four feet across
and the bosom and large bows on the skirt were held up by gold (plastic)
cherubs. The party was at the Puck building and since there was no vehicle
that would accomodate the giant pannier Dolly and her escort decided to
walk. When the bums at the Bowery started asking for money Dolly declared,
"Let them drink Remy." The gown was trimmed into something more
suitable for go-go dancing on a bar. |
