Terry Cloth

A friend suggested the name Georgette Sheer for this character and in retrospect perhaps that would have been more appropriate. Never the less, this was the look and character Sun developed to express his mania for 60's girl groups. He debuted Terry when he lip sank an 8 & 1/2 minute medley of every girl group song to hit the top ten in 1963 in alphabetical order starting with "Be My Baby" and ending with "You Don't Have To Be A Baby To Cry". Sun didn't have reference books at the time so The Cookies' "Don't Say Nothin' Bad About My Baby" was regretably omitted. Big oops. Meanwhile the number was a big hit with the audience. On another occasion Terry did a memorable performance of Robin Ward's "Wonderful Summer" to thunderous applause. Sometimes it's those subtle ones that get the unexpected big response!
